Fist to the Face

Posted on: September 5, 2010

On Friday I got to the house where I babysit right around 2:30 when I was supposed to be there, after sitting in traffic for an hour and a half.  The mom told me the kids were watching Mary Poppins, that they had been out late the night before, and it would probably be best for all of us if I could get them to fall asleep. Wellll they didn’t.  Things got a little out of hand after the movie ended to say the least.  They started to fight, but I was able to get them to stop long enough to get Georgia playing with her trains. Emery was playing with my hair and somehow they both ended up in front of me.  Georgia then told Emery to punch me in the face.  I told Georgia that’s not nice and I told Emery not to hit me.  She proceeded to thrust her fists in the direction of my face.  I was blocking her hands and then all of a sudden one of her seemingly harmless tiny little fists connected with the bridge of my nose. I was pissed.  The girls started laughing and almost instantaneously I got a headache. From a 3 year old.  I then bought myself a cupcake later in the evening.

On a lighter note, my family had a cookout today for Labor Day.  My cousin came back from Texas and a few of my second cousins were in from out of town.  It was fun!  The weather was nice and we were able to sit outside.  My mom’s cousin showed me cakes she made for weddings and friend’s birthdays and things.  It was so cool! Her decorations were so intricate and there were many tricks and tips she shared with me.  It was fascinating!
