On Thursday, Victoria and I had some friends over for a cookie exchange type get together.  I made puppy chow for it and Victoria bought Valentines from Paper Source.  The idea is everyone brings a baked good and we sit and talk, eat chocolate treats, drink wine, and hang out.  Other goodies included chocolate chocolate cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and peanut butter cookies.  We also snacked on some cheese and crackers while making our Valentines.  I made some for a few friends and mailed them out the next day. It was a good time! My stomach was really starting to hurt by the end of the night, though.

On Friday, I had an interview type meeting with a recruiter from Abercrombie and Fitch.  I think it went pretty well.  They approached me at the job fair at DePaul asking if I’d be interested in a(nother) job with them.  I’m keeping all my options open at this point, so I went to Water Tower and spoke with the recruiter.  I’m expecting a call from her at the end of this week.  If it’s my ticket to California, I’ll take it!

After the somewhat interview concluded, I wandered around Water Tower for a while.  I went in Forever 21 looking for tights, but didn’t see anything I liked.  I went to Victoria’s Secret and got a new sports bra which I happen to like a lot.  I also headed to Godiva for my free piece of the month and got a surprise 2 pack of chocolates for spending $10 last month, which I don’t remember doing! I considered buying a Chocolixer, but took a pass.  Oh, I will be back soon for one, though!  I left the mall and went to H&M to buy tights since I had gotten some in Spain there that I really liked and recently ripped.  I picked out a pair I liked and realized that they are the exact same ones I bought in Spain when I put them on this morning.. and put a hole in them with my finger nail already! Anyway, after H&M I stopped for a happy meal since retail therapy was doing me some good.  I decided to be extra happy with a cheeseburger, no pickle, fries, a rootbeer, and a pony toy I gave to Kiersten.  Then I hopped on the red line to North and Clybourne.  I went to Express since I still have gift cards galore there.  I found a sweater I liked and still have $30 in gift cards! I’m thinking about going back for another pair of yoga pants. I love the ones I got for Christmas from there! I also went to Old Navy to return a pair of tights that hardly covered my knees.  I also bought a sweater there.  Side note: I’m sick of sweaters. I want to wear jean shorts and tank tops.  Then I went home, did some work for my internship, took a nap, went to the gym, made dinner with Kiersten, watched Grey’s, and came home to shower and go out for Jessica’s birthday.  Man, Friday was a busy day for me!

Jessica’s birthday was a lot of fun! We met up at her apartment first and hung out until around midnight. Then, we went to the Apartment which I was not too happy about because it is not my favorite bar, but I had a good time.  After last call there we went to Wise Fools for some popcorn before deciding to call it a night.  I had a lot of fun.

Saturday was much more relaxed.  I met Brady for a bagel at Einsten’s and went to the gym with Kiersten.  I did a little homework, took a nice long nap, and then Kiersten came over again.  We made amazing fried rice! I can’t wait to make it again.  I was very impressed with our skills. I even baked chicken and added it into mine. We watched Catch Me If You Can and Taken and enjoyed left over desserts from the cookie exchange.

I went to the gym again this morning and hurried to Nookie’s for breakfast with Victoria before I had to work.  I ended up having to take my skillet to go, but it was still very good! I’m looking forward to having the left overs for breakfast tomorrow.  Work was pretty busy.  It was a little frustrating watching girls pick out things to wear with their boyfriends, though.  Valentine’s Day, hurry up and be over already! My sister met me at work and we went to CBA for dinner.  After she left, I watched some of the Grammys and did a little homework.  The sooner I go to sleep, the sooner I wake up and it’s Valentine’s Day. Yuck.
