More from Myrtle Beach

Posted on: March 25, 2011

Yesterday morning we ran along the beach all the way until the end of the tall buildings.  It was probably about 3 miles in total.  It was hard to run on the beach because the sand was soft in some places and hard in others.  It was slanted if you got too close to the water, but too soft if you got too far away.  It was fun though, I like hearing the ocean crashing as we’re running.  After working out, we went to Pier 14 for lunch.  It was so cool to be basically sitting over the ocean!  We took lots of pictures up there.  Lunch was very good.  Kiersten had a salad and I had chicken quesadillas. We decided to lay out near the pier since we wanted to get ice cream on our venture back to the hotel. We stayed on the beach for about 3 hours and then headed to the boardwalk to find ice cream.  A few places along the way were closed so we stopped in a coffee shop. Kiersten had Bunny Tracks ice cream and I got a coffee drink that was similar to a frappachino.  (By the way, I have not been to Starbucks once since we’ve been here and there is one in the lobby of the hotel 2 doors down!)  The coffee shop also had fudge so we picked some up to take home.  I don’t know how I’m going to get everything home! I bought a lot of stuff and we wanted to do some shopping today..

After we dropped our fudge off in the fridge, we went back out to the beach. We took a lot of pictures doing gymnastics and running and stuff.  Some of the pictures turned out really cool! Our Canadian friends saw us from their balcony and came down with Mudslides.  We talked for a little while on the beach and then they invited us to dinner.  We ran up to our room to take showers and headed back out to Pier 14.  We didn’t mind going there twice because the menu was different for dinner.  We had crab dip and tortilla chips for an appetizer. It was very good! The Canadians were very nice and polite.  We had a very nice dinner and wandered around the pier for  few minutes before heading back to the hotel.  Kiersten agreed to go on a ride called the Slingshot! I’m going to video tape it. It’ll be awesome.

I am a little sunburned from not wearing sunscreen.  It is totally worth it though!
