Working on New Year’s Eve

Posted on: January 1, 2012

Last night went pretty well! 3 of the girls showed up right at 4:30 so we all went down to get our badges together.  One came a little later, around 4:45.  Luckily they had all watched a few of the videos they told us to watch about makeup and the boas that they had.  There were a lot of safety pins in the costumes and a lot of making it up as you go along to make sure it’ll stay up.  It took the full 2 hours to get everyone ready, but they looked great!  Here is a picture!

It was a long night for everyone, but they were great.  People loved them! I mostly had to make sure they took breaks every hour and a half and make sure they were walking around the casino and taking pictures and everything.  It was a pretty easy job for me!  I did feel like the ugly duckling a little, though because they were getting so much attention. They were on stage at midnight and took sooo many pictures!  I tried on one of the head pieces on a break.  It was pretty heavy! I had flats on and my legs were tired from standing and walking around.  At 12:30 when they were done, the girls were limping back to where they got dressed.  I guess we were supposed to have a green room, but it was really just an office with about 4 desks in a room.  I did my best to pick up all the feathers, but I think we left it a little messier than we found it!  I got home around 2:30am and just woke up a little while ago (its noon!). I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year!

Here is my favorite secret from this week:

I like it because its ironic.  and I like fortune cookies. and my secret isn’t really a secret either anymore.
