California is fun so far! Yesterday, a bunch of Brady’s friends hiked to the Hollywood sign with us! We got going around 11 in the morning since I got in so late on Friday. It was supposed to be an hour each way to the sign and back, but it pretty much took all day! It was probably about an hour and a half there and a little less back. We took a few shortcuts up and down the mountain which made me sore! Evan brought his dog, Puck. That was cool! There were lots of dogs on the path. We also saw a lot of people on horses. When we finally got to the top of the mountain and to where we could see the sign, I was a little disappointed. We could see Burbank, the city of L.A., Lake Hollywood, and a barge out on the ocean. That was cool, but the back of the sign was kind of a let down. I thought we’d be able to get that close to the front of the sign! It was hard to see more than a few letters at a time from the back because we were so close and there was a fence. Everybody was hungry when we got up to the top. Brady and I did cartwheels on the top before we decided to turn around. We couldn’t get down fast enough! We had a long way to go to the car. We saw a market but then realized none of us had anything with us. Except Kristin! She brought a backpack and saved us all from being hungry and crabby with some wheat thins. By the time we got back to the car, it was around 3 in the afternoon. We stopped for lunch at a brewery. We left there around 4:30 and got back to the apartment around 5. The plan was to go to Santa Monica, but everyone was too tired. We found out Whitney Houston died a few miles away from where we were! We relaxed for a while then decided to go in the hot tub. We ordered Chinese, watched Pretty Woman, and called it a night. Today was eventful as well! Brady and I went to Venice Beach and then horseback riding in the mountains. I have battle wounds. I’ll have to get into it later though. My vote is needed on a movie!
