Yesterday, I got up early to go to the UPS store in Barrington to send my packages! I spent all day on Saturday putting finishing touches on everything.  I needed some lottery tickets and a trip to the Disney store! I had to wrap and pack everything and by the time I was ready to send everything, it was 4pm and all the UPS stores were closed! I was lucky enough to find one in Barrington open on Sunday, but the hours were 10 – 4. I was planning on leaving at 10 for the Blackhawks game, but I left at 9:30 in order to get to Barrington at 10 instead.  I was early so I went to Cook Street Coffee and got a very good raspberry mocha.  The UPS store didn’t open right at 10! That was annoying. I sat across the street at the coffee shop for a few minutes and then went back to my car for the boxes.  There were some really cool pieces of art in the coffee shop! If it were closer, I’d go there more often.  Anyway, I dropped off the boxes and then headed downtown.  I got to the seats 8 minutes before the game started!  The Hawks were playing the St. Louis Blues.  It was a great game!  We had awesome seats in the 12th row behind one of the nets.  We saw the mascot, Tommy Hawk.  When he was going up the stairs, my boss stopped him for the picture.  My boss was on the end seat and I was siting next to him with the clients to my left.  When he got up, this left an opening for Tommy Hawk to sit on my lap and mess up the girls’ hair in front of me! His tail was in my face! It was funny. I’m sure my face was super red!  The Blackhawks won 3 -1! We hit up the team store after the game, but I didn’t get anything. My boss got a Kane jersey. If it were me, I would have gone with Toews.  I walked the dog when I got home and went to Jewel to buy cake ball making supplies!  I also had to make oatmeal raisin cookies because I was saying I didn’t have much to do this weekend on Friday at work and Darla suggested I make cookies.  If she liked chocolate chips, easy.  I have that recipe memorized. Nooo she doesn’t like chocolate.  She requested oatmeal raisin.  I clearly don’t like these cookies. I keep spelling oatmean.  Anyway, I baked the cake and let it cool, crumbled it up and mixed it with frosting and put it in the freezer.  I started this around 6.  Then I started the cookies.  I’ve made them once before for the boys gymnastics team senior year. It was kind of a disaster.  Anyway, I had to go back to Jewel midway through baking, the oven was heated and everything because we didn’t have cinnamon!  When the cookies were done, I started frosting the cake balls.  That was a mess! I need to figure that out for next time.  I’m sure they’ll still taste good, but they don’t look too good.  By the time I finished baking, did the dishes and put the cookies and cake balls away, it was almost 11 pm!  Below is the end result.  The cookies actually turned out pretty well.  I think the oatmeal makes them hard to bake.  I can never tell when to take them out.  The cake balls don’t look too pretty, but I’m sure they will taste amazing!
