On Friday, Audelynn, Kiersten, and I went to Benchmark with some more of Kiersten’s friends.  It was supposed to be a girl’s night I think, but it didn’t turn out to be.  That’s ok.  It was fun.  Benchmark was a really cool place, but there were way too many people in it! There were 2 levels with nice tables that all had candles, a balcony with a fireplace, and a lounge area.  It seemed like more of a quiet place to go on a date or sit around and talk, not really a bar.  I guess what I’m trying to say is it seemed too classy to be a sticky floored bar, but that’s what it was.  On Saturday, I went to the dentist.  I have another cavity 😦  After that, I worked out and then Audelynn and I headed back to the city for the Proud to Runway fashion show! It was at Sidetrack in Boy’s Town.  We stopped at Krispy Fringe first, the vintage store that we would be modeling along with Nike.  We thought we would need more than the 1 outfit that we had picked out the day before.  Turns out we didn’t, which was kind of frustrating because we could have saved ourselves a trip there. We went to Starbucks and got a few snacks before heading to the bar.  The timing actually worked out well because we had about an hour to do our hair and makeup.  For the vintage part of the show, I wore  a jumpsuit! I had gold accessories with sunglasses and boots.   Audelynn had a skirt with a Thriller tshirt and adorable boots. I will have to add pictures separately because it seems this computer doesn’t like my phone and can’t find the information to upload. Anyway, after we modeled the vintage clothing, we changed into Nike gear.  I had purple running shorts with a purple and white tank top and purple and white shoes.  We were on the runway for a ridiculously long time because the runway was super short.  We were supposed to stand in one spot for 10 seconds, turn around, pose, do whatever, walk to the other side, same thing for 10 seconds, walk back and stand there for 10 more seconds! It seemed like forever! We got to keep the Nike stuff we wore, except for the shoes.  We were supposed to get to keep the shoes too, but Nike didn’t get a shipment in for them so I’m not sure how that is supposed to work out.  I heard something about getting a gift card to the store so we can go pick out whatever we want.  It’s about time for me to get new running shoes so that would be awesome!  After the show, we were available for pictures.  Sidetrack is a gay bar.  It was really interesting to be surrounded by men who wanted nothing to do with us.  Only the guy who organized the show took a picture with us! That’s ok, it was a fun time!  The show was a fund raiser for the Proud to Run 5 and 10k for gay youth.  After packing up all our stuff and changing into our Blackhawks gear, we drove back to the suburbs and went to Westwood for the game.  It was packed! We stood against the wall for the entire first 2 periods waiting for a table.  That translated to about 2 and a half hours! I was hungry and tired and getting crabby.  I also didn’t appreciate that  a UFC fight was on and everywhere I turned, guys were beating the crap out of each other and bleeding all over the place.  We finally got a table around 11:30 and ordered sushi.  I got home around 1.  I was sooo tired! Yesterday, I skyped with Marie! She got a puppy! He is adorable.  I also saw The Lucky One this weekend, mostly for this:

Zac Efron. My new favorite

He’s beautiful.  The movie was pretty good.  I liked it.  I used my new credit card for the first time today!  I also started My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I finished 2 books last week! Breakfast then coffee. It’s Monday.
