Hot Chocolate Race

Posted on: November 5, 2012

I ran the Hot Chocolate Race yesterday! Cindy and I drove to the city together and got downtown around 6:15 a.m.  We each had friends we were supposed to meet up with, but weren’t able too. It seems the trains were not running frequently enough so people already in the city had to wait a while or find other ways to get to the race. I stuck with Cindy because I didn’t think Kiersten was going to make it in time for the race. She also didnt have her phone, which made it difficult to try to find her. I ran with Cindy for the first mile, then she decided to wait for her friend. When I finished the race I bumped into Kiersten and Maria. We waited for Cindy and all got our finishers mugs together. It was fun, but I thought 40,000 people was way too many to have on the course. Waking up at 4:45 to run 3 miles isn’t my favorite thing in the world. The chocolate fondue was really good though! We got home by 10:30 in the morning. It made yesterday seem really long. Here are some pictures from the race!
