Career Things

Posted on: May 13, 2013

I started a new job last week! I am the Media & Communications Officer at a law firm downtown. They specialize in patents and trademarks covering many different areas.  I think I’m going to New York for a trade show in early June! The office is 1 block off State Street so I like to rack up Shopkick points on my lunch break. Haven’t heard of Shopkick? Check it out here. It’s an app that lets you collect points for going to stores, scanning items, and buying things then you turn them in for gift cards to Starbucks, Target, Old Navy, gas cards, etc. I love it! Anyway, when I was job searching I was having a really hard time figuring out what I wanted to do. I considered going back to school, among many other options. I found this article on LinkedIn about reasons why you shouldn’t go to grad school. It is very interesting!  Here is a post about why you shouldn’t do what you love! This one is about parents paying for their kids to get internships! I had 2 unpaid internships in college, it happens!
