We left Rome early this morning to travel to sorrento by train. We had been told to be careful and watch our things. We didn’t have any real problems, just a guy who asked us what coach we were on when he saw us on the platform, led us there, helped us on the train and then demanded a ridiculous amount of money. We gave him plenty and told him to go away. The train ride was pleasant otherwise. We sat 4 facing each other, 2 and 2 with a table in the middle. There was a cart that came through with food and drinks but we didn’t get anything because we weren’t sure if we had to pay. I don’t think you do. The train ride was about an hour with another hour in the car to sorrento. We passed mount Vesuvius on the way. Sorrento is soo beautiful! It is on the Tyrrhenian Sea. We had lunch over looking the water. I had spaghetti with clams in a butter sauce. It was very good! Everyone enjoyed their lunch. I absolutely love the food. It’s amazing. There is a private beach we are going to go to tomorrow. Jen and I ventured out for wine and we spent the afternoon relaxing, reading and drinking wine. We watched the sun set over the water. It was incredible!!
